GAME Forum


The Alfred University Student-Managed Investment Fund (“SMIF”) is proud to participate in the Quinnipiac Global Asset Management Education (“GAME”) Forum, one of the largest student-run financial conferences in the world.

Hosted annually in New York City, the GAME Forum brings together students, faculty, and professionals from across the globe for a dynamic two-day event focused on investment strategy, global markets, and portfolio management.

From April 3–4, 2025, attendees will engage with top industry leaders through keynote sessions, breakout discussions, and networking events. SMIF members will have the opportunity to represent Alfred University in this premier forum, gaining insights from professionals at the forefront of the financial industry.

Timeline


  • Fall 2025 – Event Launch
  • Registration for GAME Forum XV opens, including the Global Portfolio Competition and portfolio poster session.
  • Student teams (undergraduate and graduate) are invited to register and submit preliminary materials.
  • Winter 2026 – Portfolio Competition Submission Deadline
  • Deadline for submitting poster outlines or preliminary portfolio submissions typically falls around early February (exact date TBD when registration opens).
  • Late February 2026 – Information Session (Zoom)
  • Quinnipiac hosts a virtual info session to walk through event logistics, portfolio competition guidelines, poster expectations, and answer any participant questions.
  • March 19–20, 2026 – GAME Forum XV (New York City)
  • Held at the New York Marriott Marquis or a comparable venue, the conference includes:
  • Day 1 (March 19)


    • Morning registration & networking
    • Keynote panels on topics like asset allocation, FinTech, AI, crypto, and hedge funds
    • Breakout sessions and workshops (e.g., portfolio management, career panels, behavioral finance)
    • Career networking events featuring GAME alumni and company recruiters

    Day 2 (March 20)


    • Continued keynote sessions and specialized panels (options trading, leadership strategies, economy outlook)
    • Global Portfolio Competition & Poster Session: teams present tri-fold posters summarizing their real portfolios; judging and awards take place during the afternoon
    • Closing keynote panel and conference wrap-up

All semifinalist teams are eligible to win superlative prizes.
Winners will be selected by the MIC in conjunctions with judges.

Slides and Presentation Guidelines


Each team is required to deliver a stock pitch—either long or short—on a publicly traded company from any industry. The chosen company must have a market capitalization between US$1 billion and US$10 billion and a share price above US$5.00 (adjusted for exchange rates), based on the closing price as of March 20th, 2025. The company may be listed on any global exchange. Pitch decks must be 15 slides or fewer, not including the title slide or appendix materials. The presentation must clearly address the following core components: • Company & Industry Overview • Investment Thesis • Financial Valuation • Risks & Catalysts Each team will be given 15 minutes to present, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session with a panel of judges.
